Use OnGuardOnline.gov against Internet fraud
OnGuardOnline.gov is a new website created by the Federal Trade Commission in partnership with the Young Adult Library Services Association, and several federal agencies to teach users about Internet fraud, securing computers, and protecting person information. The site is intended for parents, teachers and teens. It is a site of many different media–videos, tutorials, activities, text information, curriculum guides, buttons, and banners. Topics range from spyware, social networking, wireless acccess, laptop security, file-sharing, and phishing, both online and off. Spanish versions are available. Be sure to check out the publication, Stop Think Click: 7 Practices for Safer Computing, which is the brochure offered from the Order Publications link.
OnGuardOnline.gov should prove to be a very important resource for reliable information about safety in using the Internet.

I paid for an item from http://www.gettingtopar.com and this website is still existing and I never received the item. The phone number keeps changing and currently, no one ever answers the number. I feel that this company is ripping off people. I paid them via my debit card $67.81 on Aug. 2008 for an item and still haven’t received it and I know I”m not going to but I would like this website shut down so other consumers don’t get ripped off too.

I paid $157.00 for info or leads on rebate processing and I haven’t received any information. I don’t think that I will. If you’re looking to work from home do not look to Diana Deangelo-she is a fraud. I here she doesn’t exist. I really don’t regret the desire to work from home to be with my family but I do regret being so desperate that I lost my money to scammers and there is nothing that anyone can do about it.

I’m trying to find out the legitimacy of a corporation ,Churchill Corporate Services, who handle short term furnished rentals in NY.
They are asking for an extensive credit report from us- credit card; checking and savings accounts numbers for a two month rental.
Thank you, Marilyn

Marilyn,
Here is the BBB link on Churchill Corporate Services: http://www.bbb.org/new-jersey/business-reviews/furniture-rent-and-lease/churchill-corporate-services-in-princeton-nj-90004870
Also, they are in good standing through the NJ Dept of Banking & Insurance (https://www6.state.nj.us/DOBI_LicSearch/Jsp/recSearch.jsp)
